June 7, 2008, Taipei Arena, 12,067 seats — not a single one empty Before that night, it was the first half of your life and the first half of mine After that night, it was the whole life of the two of us… Fish Leong [Today Is Valentine’s Day] New Songs + LIVE CD If we can be together, I will remember that today is Valentine’s Day. [I Love You] LOVE CD x1 Five brand-new love songs + twelve deeply remembered ones 17 volumes, our diary from now on, recording each other’s soul and breath 〈2008.6.7 Fish Leong [Today Is Valentine’s Day] @Taipei Arena〉 A Valentine’s night exclusively for [Leong-style love songs] The day Fish Leong stands on stage and sings is the Today Is Valentine’s Day that belongs exclusively to all lovers. On June 7, 2008, Fish Leong stepped onto the stage of Taipei Arena for the first time, and all 12,067 seats were filled. The concert ran for more than three hours, and the rich set list was so good nobody wanted it to end; in the end, at fans’ insistent demands, the on-the-spot request segment was extended without limit, with more than 40 songs performed, and both the performers and the audience were thoroughly delighted. That night, amid the sweet, soft lilt of Leong-style love songs, countless pairs of hands in the audience were clasped tight, holding fast to each other’s love and warmth; pairs of eyes gazing up with deep affection shone with the light of happiness in the darkness; every kiss that couples couldn’t help but share was dotted through the concert’s shifting, kaleidoscopic moods. 〈Courage〉〈If One Day〉〈Unconditionally for You〉〈Happy Breaking Up〉〈Grown Up Overnight〉〈Warm〉〈Ningxia〉〈Too Bad It’s Not You〉〈Worship〉〈The Pain That Breathes〉〈Silk Road〉〈I Like〉〈Swallowtail Butterfly〉〈Little Hand in Big Hand〉〈Kiss Kiss〉〈The World I Most Want to Travel Around〉 Snuggling up with the one you love beside you and taking in a Fish Leong concert can always become an unforgettable memory in the course of a romance. No other voice can give us so much courage to love; No other blessing can compare to the truth and purity in Fish Leong’s singing. In response to the strong demands of tens of thousands of fans, B’in Music is releasing a complete live recording of the whole concert as a LIVE CD, capturing nearly the entire show 100% unadulterated, and sincerely adding 5 brand-new songs that portray the “five stages of love,” as a thank-you to fans for their love of Leong-style love songs. Fish Leong’s Taipei Arena debut had a total production cost of 20 million. B’in Music painstakingly built a stage worthy of the aura of the queen of love songs: 36 dazzling crystal ornaments, luxurious and glittering; an extra-large white lift screen in front of the stage, 25 meters long and 13 meters tall, projecting images with a special H25 high-magnification projector; at the opening, Fish Leong stood on a high platform as it rose, and a single song, 〈Worship〉, captured the audience’s hearts. The concert was full of ingenious touches, including a stunning aerial “duo red silk” dance, Chaplin-style mime performances matched to the mood of the songs, and Fish Leong riding a little steam train around the whole Taipei Arena — all worth savoring again and again. Musically, besides the excellent Malaysian musicians led by veteran musician Mac Chew, there was also a majestic live string orchestra surrounding her, with musicality that knows no bounds and flows at ease. As for the set list, in addition to more than 30 well-known love songs from Fish Leong’s own ten years since debuting and nine albums, she also performed live many songs by the kings and queens of pop that she admires, including Jody Chiang’s 〈Silent Flower〉, Faye Wong’s 〈Red Bean〉, A-Mei’s 〈Remember〉, Jacky Cheung’s 〈Love Letter〉, David Tao’s 〈Love Is Simple〉, Karen Mok’s 〈Let’s Fall in Love〉, Mayday’s 〈Contentment〉 and more. Fish Leong’s good friend Tanya Chua, who had just won Best Female Vocalist at this year’s Golden Melody Awards, also came to sing 〈Premonition of Happiness〉 with her. All of these will be included in full on the [Today Is Valentine’s Day] LIVE CD, sealing in one perfect memory. This is an era short on eternal songs, an era that needs Fish Leong’s voice. Whether they are other people’s songs or her own, Fish Leong’s wonderful voice leaves us forever the best songs of this era. We seem to live in an era lacking “eternal songs,” and we often feel that old songs are still the most enduring and the best at conveying deep feelings. Fish Leong’s singing is natural and effortless, blending sweet and sour emotions, and it can always bring people warmth and clarity. To have good songs sung for us by such a voice, and to leave the sound of classic songs behind in a concert — that must be happiness. The [Today Is Valentine’s Day] LIVE CD places special emphasis on the songs by beloved kings and queens of pop that Fish Leong performed (〈Silent Flower〉, 〈Red Bean〉, 〈Love Letter〉, 〈Love Is Simple〉, and more). Each one is a classic love song, and each has brought countless people the beauty and courage of love. Fish Leong sang these songs at her concert not only because hers is a concert that performs love, singing the best love songs for her fans, but also because her wonderful voice can give the classics a different kind of emotion. Five brand-new songs sincerely included, portraying the five stages of love — secret crush, first love, passionate love, bitter love, broken heart Besides the songs performed live at Taipei Arena, as a thank-you to fans, the [Today Is Valentine’s Day] LIVE CD also sincerely includes five brand-new Fish Leong songs, ingeniously portraying the five stages of love — secret crush, first love, passionate love, bitter love, broken heart. In order, they are: 〈If We Could Be Together〉, 〈Today Is Valentine’s Day〉, 〈Full of Love〉, 〈I Decide〉, 〈Let’s Stop Here〉. Every feeling of love — sweet and sour, bitter and spicy, and the bitterness and sweetness known to no one else — is gathered in these five songs, worth savoring slowly. Among them, 〈Today Is Valentine’s Day〉 is the 1,000th lyric by the famous lyricist Yao Ruolong, the “god of love poems,” and we are extremely honored to include it on this Fish Leong album; having the queen of love songs, Fish Leong, deliver this deeply meaningful work with true feeling could not be more fitting.
