This afternoon halley summoned me over for a few rounds of Red Alert 3, and my craving for StarCraft 2 shot straight through the roof… Finally there’s some solid word: Q2 next year. Well, sooner than I can mentally handle, hehe.

Blizzard’s RTS blockbuster Starcraft II was confirmed earlier today for a Q2 2010 release, though the exact day within Q2 is still unannounced.

According to foreign media reports, Blizzard’s RTS blockbuster Starcraft II was confirmed earlier today for a Q2 2010 release, though the exact day within Q2 is still unannounced. The game will be split into three separate titles, each focusing on a single race. Terran, Zerg, and Protoss will appear in turn, with the Terran leading as the base game, while the Zerg and Protoss arrive later as standalone expansions — though content-wise all three are similar, each with 26-30 missions. Each part’s ending is fixed, but the specific progression depends on the player’s choices, and different playstyles lead to very different storylines.
