machinarium A few days ago I watched the movie 9 — mediocre plot, but grand visuals — and the images of those future robots are still vivid in my mind.

Yesterday, the big Flash game Machinarium entered my gaming journey.

I spotted this game on auzn’s blog, and judging by the screenshots it looked well worth playing. And today halley recommended it to me too, which made me even more curious.

I got the torrent from auzn, so here’s a BT torrent portal — anyone passing by who wants to play, let’s download it together: http://bt.ktxp.com/html/2009/1017/141714.html

It’s already up on verycd too, along with a Chinese localization patch (3DM’s): Download page: http://www.verycd.com/topics/2775000/

The game is all about action puzzles, so language doesn’t matter. There is a Chinese patch, but I wouldn’t recommend using it.

Here’s some useful info — you can treat it as a Machinarium walkthrough:

  • If you’re at a loss, check the exclamation mark hint in the top-right corner.
  • If you’ve read the hint and still have no idea, play the little plane-shooting game in the top-right corner (up/down keys to move + space to fire, it’s simple), and it will open the walkthrough for the corresponding level.
  • If your level of intelligence is so unique that you need to play that plane game over and over just to see the walkthrough, and you find that too tedious, then you can dig out all the game’s walkthroughs: in the \10\ folder under the installation directory (for example F:\Program Files\Machinarium\10), apart from the two files 11111111.101 and 11111111.111, just change the extension of every other file to .swf and you can open them with Flashplayer — each one is the walkthrough for a level.

Have fun playing, and beat the game soon!

ps: this game reminds me of a little Flash game I once played — 小黑轮的机器城.
